Four different orders come off the same yard
A general contractor pouring a metal building orders a different ticket than a homeowner doing a driveway, and the recycled side of the yard is a different order again. Here is who buys what, and why, grouped by the job rather than by product.
Commercial
High-strength mix and the steel that goes with it
General contractors on metal buildings, parking lots and commercial slabs order for load rating, not looks. That means high-strength ready mix concrete, rebar sized to the pour, fiber mesh where it earns its place, and bumper blocks and wall blocks for the lot once the slab is down.
Expansion joints belong on this order too, set where the slab meets a wall or another pour so the two are free to move independently. Public and commercial bids often require a certified supplier on the job, which is exactly where our HUB certification matters.

Industrial
The base and the stone, before the mix ever shows up
Sites doing their own grading and paving buy sub-grade and caliche by the yard, not by the truckload of concrete. It is the compacted base that decides whether whatever gets built on top of it holds, out here more than most places.
Concrete aggregate, limestone and river rock cover surfacing and drainage work, and mortar sand and masonry sand are stocked for anyone laying block or brick rather than pouring a slab.

Residential
One yard, whether it is a patio or a whole driveway
Homeowners doing their own pour or working with a small crew buy the same concrete aggregate as the bigger jobs, just by the smaller load. Landscape aggregate covers beds, borders and drainage around the house rather than anything structural.
Integral color is the one item on this list that is specific to residential work. It goes into the mix at the plant rather than being applied to the surface after, so a patio or a driveway can come off the truck already the color the homeowner picked.

Renewable
The recycled side of the yard
Demolition and removal jobs generate old concrete that has to go somewhere, and crushed concrete is that material stocked back out as usable base and fill rather than trucked off to a landfill. It is a straightforward substitute anywhere caliche or aggregate base would otherwise go.
Concrete washout is the other half of this stream: the leftover slurry rinsed out of a mixer or a pump line has to be contained and disposed of properly, not hosed onto the ground or into a storm drain. Keeping that stream at a HUB-certified local yard rather than trucking it out of town is part of what that certification is meant to protect.
